Learning to Play Autumn Leaves – Jazz

I have been quite into the jazz piano recently. However as I can’t read sheet music, I tend to just learn the chords and improvise the melody around the key. This is what I am doing with the Jazz standard Autumn Leaves. At the moment I can only play it in G minor. I tend to play the melody for the first time round and then improvise after that. The G minor (Bb major) is the easier key for me and many other player. This is due to the fact that the key positions fit naturally over the finger shape.

I enjoy these videos as backing music.
